With our intuitive Online Visualizer Tool, you can see your ideas come to life as you imagine them. It’s easy, it’s fun and best of all —it’s all you. Click here to get started.
Step One: Pick Your Case
Evaluate your space and decide what kind of case you would like to create. Do you want to create a nightstand, a tall or short dresser or a chest? Pick from 10 skeletons that serve the function you need. Don’t worry you can always change your mind. That’s part of the fun.
Step Two: Pick Your Base
It is the details that make a case unique, starting with the base. We offer seven and each provides a distinctive look. Something may catch your eye immediately, or you may want to experiment. It’s as easy as the click of a mouse. On one of the bases you can even add metal ferrules in Satin Brass, Brushed Nickel or Antique Bronze.
Step Three: Pick Your Drawer Front
The drawer fronts define the case. We offer 13 distinctive faces that can change the tone from contemporary to traditional or somewhere in-between. Note that many of the faces have raised carvings which allow for combination finishes. We will get to that in step eight.
Door Face Options
The same options are available on door faces.
Step Four: Choose Your Hardware
Hardware is like the jewelry on a piece of furniture. It needs to be both functional as well as beautiful. All hardware does not work on all drawers, but don’t worry—we won’t let you make a bad decision and we’ll show only the hardware that works best with the drawer or door face you choose.
Step Five: Choose Your Hardware Placement
Sometimes you will want a single piece of hardware on each drawer, and sometimes you will want two pieces equally offset from the center. You’re the designer. You decide.
Hardware Placement On Doors
The same thing is true with cabinet doors. Sometimes you want it centered on the door, and sometimes you want it centered on the inner edge. You’re the designer. You decide.
Step Six: Change Your Hardware Color
Almost all hardware is available in three finishes: Satin Brass, Brushed Nickel or Antique Bronze. Experiment to see which works best. Remember, you’re the designer, and you can change your mind as fast as you can click the mouse. Your click is our command and your design will immediately come to life.
Step Seven: Change The Finish
Vanguard Furniture is world renown for the quality of its finishes. There are more than 70 standard world class finishes and many people choose to finish the entire case in a single finish.
Step Eight: Be Creative
You are not limited to these standard finishes. As good as our visualizer is, it is just a lifeless robot with many limitations. Human beings are far more creative, and if you’ve ever used a coloring book you have all the skills necessary to create something extraordinary.
Print The Outline
After you’ve designed the guts of your case, download your design, print the coloring book page and get out your colored pencils. Each of the three parts of the case (the base, face, and case) can be a different color.
Click on the custom embellishment link to see what is possible.
Go to any major paint or hardware store to choose paint colors. We recommend quality paints from well-known brands such as Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams. You need to specify the exact paint color, but don’t need to supply the paint. We will source it.
Step 9: Show Off
After your piece is delivered and becomes the focal point of your room, invite your friends and show them what you’ve created. But don’t be surprised if they are jealous. Take a picture, post it on Pinterest and see how many re-pins you get. Click here to get started.
